Chat is the wrong interface for an AI employee. When we started the company in 2023 and we didn't have a reliably working agent, I ran those fake agent demos where I was giving people a chat UI, promising them an agent that can do anything for them, and asking them what they would do. There was a human on the other side performing the tasks. The result? No one knew what to prompt. It turns out people are not good at coming up with things to automate. Except perhaps some people in San Francisco or those working in revops. Thus, we decided to not build a chat bot.
