From what I remember the restaurant didn’t even raise the prices much at all but that didn’t stop a customer from bringing in their own eggs and bacon. The customer was talking to the waitress as if she’s done this before and the funniest thing to me about the whole thing was that she expected to only pay for the toast and drinks. She thought by bringing in her own eggs and bacon that the cooks could cook it for her and wouldn’t charge her for it. The restaurant flat out refused and told her it was against health code. But she wouldn’t take no for an answer. We all watched in shock as she tried to push her way into the kitchen holding her eggs and bacon so that she could do it herself. I remember saying something to her about why didn’t she just cook it at home. She then started yelling back and telling us she didn’t care, and that we needed to mind our own business. The restaurant ended up calling the cops and she was eventually removed, but not before throwing her eggs at the workers and cursing the establishment for not doing her request.

Helping out at my dad’s restaurant in high school I remember a regular came by just as we closed and then my dad went outside. The man was an amateur hunter but didn’t know how to process the deer he got. So he tried to make a deal with my dad for him to process it for him and give him a cut of the meat. I’ve never seen my dad cook food that wasn’t purchased by us before but he ended up doing it. Of course I was volunteered to help as well. We spent the next few hours processing it and when we were done. He told the customer to hang on while he made us a later dinner. We all hung around and waited for the food and it was actually pretty decent, first time trying venison. I ended up staying a few hours later cleaning up the mess and clean hung everything. I’m sure the health department wouldn’t have been too keen on us doing that but from what I remember that was the first and the last time he ever cooked outside food.
