Failure to comply or to cut problematic partnerships could result in the loss of federal research funding. Key revelations: •Harvard received more than $600 million from Chinese sources — the highest amount of any U.S. university. •Harvard-affiliated researchers had 140 research collaborations with Chinese military-linked entities. •A Pentagon-funded weapons-related course was taught in Mandarin to Chinese nationals. •Numerous researchers who worked on Pentagon projects later went to work for China’s military. This is not isolated “academic exchange.” It is systematic infiltration. The Chinese Communist Party’s standard playbook: Use money and partnerships to enter top U.S. universities → acquire sensitive technology and talent → bring the results and people back to serve China’s military-civil fusion strategy. The University of California system is also on the list of 30 universities ordered to audit. Combined with the earlier demand by Rep. Young Kim and senators for an investigation into California’s climate and energy agreements with the CCP, the pattern is clear — from state government to universities, the CCP has been actively working the system. The federal government is finally starting to audit and cut funding. This should have happened much earlier.
