Zach Cregger reveals that Austin Abrams nearly died while filming 'RESIDENT EVIL' after a practical effect malfunctioned.
Cregger said he refused to use CGI for the sequence, instead relying on practical effects that involved 150-pound body-sized blood bags crashing and exploding around Abrams while running.
“One of them triggered too early, and it missed him by inches. These things are all like 150 pounds, and would have killed him if he had been one step to the right. He would have died.”
