Infleqtion is among the first organizations using @nvidia's new CUDA-Q Logical to develop more efficient quantum error correction codes. By integrating Infleqtion's qLDPC open-source library with the platform, our researchers constructed and validated a code in software that encodes 18 logical qubits in 98 physical data qubits. That is approximately six physical data qubits per logical qubit, representing about five times the code rate of the surface-code approach used for comparison. The team also brought the code into a working compiler pipeline. We develop the code and the machine together, working to preserve the code’s efficiency through the physical operations and error decoding a working system requires. The potential is more computational power from fewer physical qubits, and a smaller hardware burden on the path to utility scale. Congratulations to the NVIDIA team on the launch of CUDA-Q Logical.
