I recently read Ansem's article, and it genuinely moved me. It's rare to see someone willing to think so deeply about what memes really are and why they matter. So often, I hear people debating what's good or bad, useful or useless. Compared to products, tools, or currencies with obvious utility, memes can feel almost impossible to explain. What's the point of this? What does it actually do? But maybe that's exactly the point. A meme is nothing, and therefore it can become anything. It's a medium for ideas, emotions, culture, identity, and shared belief. It can be a joke, a memory, a photograph📸, a painting🌄, or an entire movement. The freedom of expression that blockchain has always encouraged, to me, most fully realized through memes. Their value isn't something you can always measure—that immeasurable quality is their value. That's also how we think about building Flap. We don't want Flap to dictate what people should create. We want it to be a medium. A pen that anyone can pick up to paint their own story✏️. Or perhaps an invisible body of water, quietly carrying countless dreams, ideas, and visions toward places none of us can predict. If blockchain is the romance of finance, then memes are the romance of blockchain. And maybe one day, Flap can become the romance of memes. 🦋
