Kane 謝凱堯(@kane):Tbf this happened long ago. Specialized sold 49% of the company to its Taiwanese OEM Merida back in 2001. The US has a few high end boutique builders but the majority of the domestic brands have been Taiwanese/Chinese manufacture for decades. The big shift is Taiwan to China.

One thing nobody is really talking about - that is super fascinating… The bike industry is quietly having its “BYD moment.” For years, Chinese companies manufactured bikes for Western brands. Now the Chinese manufacturers are building world-class bikes under their own brands and selling for dramatically less. Feels very similar to what happened in the EV industry.
