At a friend's wedding, the DJ announced that everyone married more than twenty years should come to the dance floor. Parents went up. Aunts and uncles went up. Very sweet. Then a man I'd been casually chatting with at the bar walked onto the floor. This was confusing because he'd spent the previous half hour lightly flirting with me. I stared at him. He saw me staring and immediately started shaking his head. The DJ said, "Twenty-five years?" He stayed. "Thirty?" Still there. Absolutely unbelievable. Finally only he and an older couple remained. He suddenly sprinted off the dance floor, came straight toward me and said, "I'm not married." "Then WHAT was that?" "I thought he said everyone over twenty." "You are thirty-two." "I panicked." "So you decided to be twenty?" He looked over his shoulder at the DJ. "I kept waiting for a category I understood." Then the DJ announced the bouquet toss. He said, "I'm sitting down before I acquire a wife.”
