August was a busy month for @UmbraPrivacy. V2 is near completion, the team expanded ahead of the rollout, and Payroll processed more than $300K during the month, up around 75% MoM. 1. V2 is almost ready The team spent August rebuilding its Web app, Payroll, SDK and core privacy architecture. The new version is designed to make the product simpler to use, with privacy enabled by default. Private transfers, swaps, yield and payroll will also rely on the same core infrastructure. This should make future upgrades easier to roll out across products using the Umbra SDK. 2. Umbra introduces Zones One of the main additions is Zones. Zones let institutions, funds, DAOs and other users share the same shielded pool while applying different compliance rules and approval policies. Users also keep control of their funds and can exit with their keys if an operator fails. 3. Team expansion Umbra also expanded its team ahead of the V2 release. It added capacity across ops, sales, BD and product design as it prepares for the rollout. 4. Payroll keeps growing Payroll also received several UX and infrastructure improvements in August. Processed volume increased around 75% MoM, with more than $300K processed during the month. For comparison, Payroll had processed around $500K in cumulative volume before August.
