My opinion, it may be unpopular, and it's not based on what I like, is that... Bitcoin as it is, without any optional hard fork, either wins as money, or it doesn't. No just-in-case fork can ever take its place. The only way a hard fork can be compatible with success as scarce digital world money, is if the hard fork is unanimous, eg, alternative is instant certain death. Any just-in-case coin is on par with digital barter, competing with all shitcoins, none with the possibility of developing digital scarcity. Digital scarcity happens only once, remember? It's not a chant or hope, I just explained why it's true.
