I find “high APM, low ego” to be one of the most useful heuristics for decisionmaking in a high functioning org, and I am always impressed when those around me exhibit speed and humility. It’s something of a mantra at New Media.
An idea I’ve been playing with is that humility is the interpersonal manifestation of speed. If you can give feedback to anyone respectfully and implement feedback from anyone gracefully, you just move way faster and skip a lot of pain.
