BIG | 🇩🇪‼️‼️ Two unidentified drones were detected over Germany’s Schönewalde/Holzdorf air base on September 5, drawing renewed attention to the security of one of the Bundeswehr’s most sensitive air-defense sites. Holzdorf hosts key elements of Germany’s new Arrow missile-defense architecture. According to information circulating about the incident, the sightings came after new Arrow 3 components had been delivered to the base. The Bundeswehr reportedly attempted to use an electronic counter-drone system against the first aircraft, but the drone was too far away for the system to have an effect. Germany has previously acknowledged shortcomings in its ability to neutralize unidentified drones around military facilities, including Holzdorf. The timing makes the incident particularly concerning.
