I'm sure we could have an endless and entertaining semantic debate about what a "foreign arrival" in France is, but there's a real point here that goes well beyond Internet banter. The mainstream, bidness-feminist presentation of this case was that "typical everymen" gathered together in one small village to rape this poor woman. This is actually complete bullshit, and probably worth an article. These men were recruited, over the course of more than a decade, on a dark-net porn site. The usually cited "30-40 mile, <1 hour radius of her rural home" - you mention it yourself above - includes Avignon, a giant city. A hugely disproportionate number of the men involved were foreign migrants from vastly different cultures: many of the native Frenchmen were wildly atypical perverts and thugs (see tweet 3). There are no "62 million man rape academies." What happened here was terrible enough, but the vast majority of stories like this, on left and indeed right, are wildly exaggerated to create a false impression of constant danger.
