We have normalized many rubb!sh in this country because we are poor! Child labour is wrong! Attaching emotion to it doesn’t make it right! This is not “helping her mother”, the 11 year old girl has no reason sweeping an estate at 4am in the morning, coming all the way from Oworonshoki to Ikoyi! It is wrong! Ofc she can “help” sweep at home, that’s training. Not this one! This is hard labour! An 11 year old child shouldn’t be subjected to this! All the “we did this as children”, so how did that turn out ? How has that changed our country or community? Any real change in your life because you hawked plantain for your mother ? NO! Are you going to subject your own children to such ? At 4am in the morning? That’s your answer. Also I maintain that, no matter who the woman recoding them is, her approach was wrong and you don’t film people and post them on the internet without their consent especially for ridicule. Again, child labour is wrong! It is “not helping the mother”. We should learn better things and unlearn rubbish our parents did because they didn’t know better!
