🎉With the start of the new navigation season only 1️⃣ day away, @SeawayUSDOT looks back at unique transits through the U.S. Locks. 📸In 2021, the Tug and Tow, SARA DANN and “Big Blue” crane, with the @USNavy's gantry crane entering Dwight D. Eisenhower Lock. The 170-ton crane (lifting capacity at 65’) assembly, nicknamed “Big Blue”, weighed 2.7 million pounds and extending 221’ in height with the boom fully extended. #Seaway# #maritimetransportation# #maritimesafety#
