Ascent DX is a free metroidvania game created by Johan Peitz, creator of Icy Tower(game that I played in my youth a lot), that captures your interest with it's 64 x 64 pixel art visuals. With each upgrade you get to explore more areas and find the collectibles you need for storytelling. And in a metroidvania tradition, Ascent DX offers multiple endings as well.
