Alkalihalobacterium chitinilyticum sp. nov., was isolated from sediment collected from Lonar Lake, India by @DBT_NCCS_Pune. The ability to degrade complex polysaccharides positions it as a promising candidate for #biotechnological# applications, including chitin #wastetreatment# and biocontrol of phytopathogens.
