Interested in the idea of maximising yield on both the wolves trading on @RobinhoodCrypto? With their Points campaign concluding over the weekend, TGE today and gauges coming on line as you read this, @giga_dex is the newest, reddest DEX to hit Sherwood Forest and its designed to make it as simple as possible for you to earn through a simplified ve 3,3 mechanism. There are two sides to the Yield game on GigaDex, the classical plays of providing Liquidity on the DEX, or locking and staking GIGA tokens into veGIGA. Like all ve,33 DEXs, both sides of this barbell are connected, but with way less complexity than normal. There are two types of Liquidity Pool on GigaDex, Gauged and non-Gauged pools. Non-Gauged pools are your stock standard LP, you deposit two assets and earn fees in kind, slowly accruing a portion of the trading fees users pay when they swap through that pool. Giga takes a small fee on these swaps, with 3% going back to the protocol. In contrast are the Gauged pools. From a user perspective, these pools are rather similar with just the one extra step. You deposit your LP, with the extra step being a staking action (which you can combine into one click through the UI if you're feeling efficient). Gauged Pools distinct difference from Non-Gauged pools is rather than paying out fees direct to users, these pools instead pay out GIGA emissions, with fees routed elsewhere. The core simplification of the protocol is that GIGA emissions aren't directed by veGIGA holders via votes, instead they're algorithmically directed towards the pools that have been experiencing the most volume. The more people want access to a pool of liquidity, the more worthwhile it is for you to provide that liquidity! On the other end of the Barbell are veGIGA stakers. veGIGA staking is staking at its purest and simplest, you stake GIGA tokens, choose the token you'd like to earn in and the yield starts flowing in. Users can choose to earn their yield in further veGIGA (compounding later gains if you choose to), USDG, wETH or an onchain ETF in SPY (if you're a true enjoyer of both wolves). GIGA stakers earn 100% of fees from Gauged pools and the 3% of non-Gauged fees we touched on earlier. Whilst I have no idea if Giga will win the DEX wars on Robinhood, I'm a fan of the simplicity of their system and will be following along with interest!
