Nancy Mace is right on this.
You cannot argue that postpartum mental illness makes a mother so dangerous and disconnected from reality that she should not be held responsible for killing her children… while simultaneously insisting that the same diagnosis should never raise questions about a child’s safety.
You can’t have it both ways.
Mental illness deserves compassion. It deserves treatment. But children deserve protection, too.
And somewhere along the way, that part of the conversation seems to have been forgotten.
The children should ALWAYS come first. Period.
