The dollar pegged asset is issued by SoFi Bank and can be redeemed 1:1 for U.S. dollars. It was the first stablecoin issued by a U.S. nationally chartered bank on a public blockchain. BitGo is providing infrastructure and supporting distribution through its Stablecoin as a Service platform.
