The prediction argues Bitcoin could lose more than 50% of its value within two years. Vitalik said he takes the opposite side and remains optimistic about long term cybersecurity. He expects Bitcoin to handle network level attacks without requiring social consensus. Vitalik also said he considers actual breaks in hashing or Proof of Work highly unlikely.
