THE ABSURDLY LARGE NATURE OF THE U.S. NATIONAL DEBT
The U.S. national debt officially crossed $40 trillion this week.
Here’s how absurdly large that number is:
🔸$116,618 in debt for every person in America
🔸Spending $1 every second would take 1.27 million years to burn through $40 trillion
🔸$40 trillion is greater than the estimated 35 trillion cells in the human body
🔸It’s roughly 13 times the estimated 3 trillion trees on Earth
🔸Laid end-to-end, 40 trillion $1 bills could stretch from Earth to the Sun and back roughly 20 times
The debt was $38 trillion in October 2025 and $39 trillion in March 2026.
Now, just five months later: $40 trillion.
