Congratulations to Major Metzger, a 6th grader at Virginia Beach Middle School, who I was proud to present the Carnegie Medal today.
His story is an inspiration to us all — he put himself at great risk to save his friend Bryce who was falling off a ski lift. It was a pleasure to meet them both today and hear their story.
Congratulations Major on this award and good luck to both of you in all of your future endeavors!
