Then when the deal environment turned against him (prices high) he pivoted to integration. Everyone today rushes to integrate. Maybe that’s not the best path. Maybe learning, letting it breathe a bit ensures a more solid foundation. Curious if others have bought and held, then integrated later?

It’s easy to forget how smart Henry Singleton was. Graduated from the Naval Academy and MIT, earned three degrees in electrical engineering and won the Putnam award for being one of the country’s greatest mathematicians. He could also play chess blindfolded. Partnering with people like Singleton is more profitable than trying to emulate them.
