Because of this, I believe the Trump administration should move quickly to appoint an Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom through a presidential nomination, followed by Senate confirmation. I also think Andrea Picciotti-Bayer, who has been actively involved in defending religious freedom issues, is a strong candidate for this role and is well-versed in the challenges facing persecuted communities around the world.
