Shabana Mahmood MP(@ShabanaMahmood):This @NCA_UK and Border Force seizure delivers another blow to the gangs facilitating dangerous Channel crossings. I am grateful to the officers and staff whose diligent work made this possible. Had the boats and engines reached French beaches, they could have brought 2,000 illegal migrants to our shores. Disruptions to smuggling activity including arrests, convictions and seizures are up by nearly 50% – part of this government’s plan to bear down on illegal crossings. But we are not complacent, and there is much work still to be done.
