THE BLOCK: Canada's financial regulator OSFI says institutions may offer tokenized deposits if they comply with existing laws and consult with the agency first.
It also said the underlying technology of a product does not determine the legal nature, meaning tokenized deposits are "not legally distinct" from traditional deposits.
