Tom Attwater spent his final years fighting for his daughter while quietly losing his own battle. Kelli was diagnosed with neuroblastoma as a baby and later faced new tumours as a child. Tom, who became her dad in every way that mattered, helped raise £500,000 so she could receive specialist treatment abroad if her cancer returned. Then Tom himself was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Even as his own health declined, he kept pushing the appeal forward. The target was reached before his death. He married Joely, welcomed his son Fletcher, and on his wedding day walked Kelli down the aisle because he knew he might not be there to do it when she grew up. Tom Attwater passed away on 29 September 2015, aged just 32. A father’s love, carried to the very end.
