Switching over to omarchy, and I have to say first impressions are that it is fantastic. Putting AI at the center of the experience is so smart. Here's three trivial examples: 1) The default weather widget doesn't show the current days high/low temperature. Hit super-shift-a pops up your preferred coding agent, with the skills for omarchy customization preloaded. I ask it why, it explains, then offers to clone the widget and tweak it. It does. Now the weather works how I want. Amazing. 2) The workstation I'm on has a custom IO board that controls that fans. It's obnoxious. Same agent asked to install the right software (system76), and it does. I know how to do all this by hand, and I was doing it on arch before I used omarchy - but here it has skills that understood the method a little better. 3) I have multiple microphones on this workstation, and the default is always the wrong one. Setting up the built in dictation (!) was how I realized it. Ask the agent to fix the default microphone everywhere... and it does. Again, fabulous. Leaning in to someone else's customization preferences for things like Neovim feel really invasive right now - but given how little I'm actually *using* neovim, maybe I don't care? Going to just live with it a while and see. This is the first operating system that feels like it embraces the future of personalized computing. @dhh and the rest of the team did a great job here.
