there's an entire generation of crypto investors and fund managers that made money on what was largely vaporware and subsequently adopted atrocious investing habits (narrative chasing, poor diligence, high beta portfolios, pump & dumping, etc)
meanwhile, the last two decades of software and finance have clearly demonstrated that category-defining winners often compound to a terminal value far beyond what anyone imagined
