Marissa Streit(@marissastreit):The American Federation of Teachers is not just negotiating salaries and classroom policy. It is acting like a political machine with nearly 3 million members and an agenda that reaches far beyond education. The union has even pushed a resolution calling for Pentagon spending to be cut by 50 percent. Why is a teachers union trying to weaken America’s military instead of fixing the schools it is supposed to serve? Parents need to understand just how much power this organization has and what it is using that power to promote.
