Important SST update from $SEDG this morning, just ahead of its Investor Day.
First, the three-phase medium-voltage to 800 VDC conversion stage of its DC powertrain is now operating under load in the lab, with system-level validation of the full path underway.
This keeps the “working system by end of 2026” milestone on track.
Second, $SEDG published a joint white paper with NVIDIA: “800 VDC Protection and Grounding for AI Data Centers.”
When I wrote my Deep Dive, there was no public link between the two companies beyond Infineon. Now $SEDG is co-developing and publishing the protection framework for the exact architecture NVIDIA is pushing the industry toward, with SolarEdge’s own reference implementation used as the worked example.
One of the risks I flagged was that 800 VDC safety standards and certification pathways are still evolving. This is basically $SEDG positioning itself to meet those requirements as they emerge.
Importantly, the paper carries an explicit non-endorsement statement from NVIDIA and emphasizes an open, multi-vendor ecosystem. There's still no pilot customer or order here. What changed today is credibility.
Disclosure: I own a position.
