the same photo feels priceless when you took it yourself, yet cheap when AI generated it. the same song feels valuable when an artist wrote it, yet disposable when AI can produce thousands in seconds.
value doesn’t live in the artifact itself. it lives in scarcity, provenance, and our collective perception.
that’s why AI is likely to disrupt software more than art: software is valued primarily for what it does, while art is valued largely for who created it.
