PALO ALTO EXPLORED ACQUIRING $DDOG & $OKTA
Palo Alto Networks $PANW CEO Nikesh Arora explored acquisitions of Datadog and Okta as part of a broader push into AI-era security, per The Information.
Arora reportedly met with Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel in 2025 and floated a potential deal when Datadog was worth $40B+. Pomel wasn’t receptive and no formal offer followed.
Palo Alto also held talks with Okta that progressed to discussions around product integration, but the companies couldn’t agree on price.
PANW later bought CyberArk for $25B and Chronosphere for $3.35B.
The company is still evaluating deals around AI security and observability, with ClickHouse and Cribl among businesses whose products could complement Chronosphere.
Separately, PANW has developed an unannounced AI security product using Chronosphere data that is already being used by 600+ customers, including FedEx, Home Depot and DHL.
