The onboard safety pilot made no control inputs, while the aircraft was supervised remotely from as far as 2,323 miles away. During the trip, the system navigated busy Phoenix airspace and rerouted around severe weather in real time. Joby says the technology has now been tested across 400+ flights and 800 automated flight hours, including multiple U.S. military exercises.
