Nordeen, 36, reported directly to Musk and served as his chief operator, coordinating priorities and driving execution across the company. He joined xAI from Tesla's Autopilot team, where he oversaw data center buildout for Full Self-Driving. The departures accelerated after SpaceX acquired xAI in February, ahead of a planned IPO. Musk has said xAI was not built right and has reorganized the company multiple times, shedding dozens of employees in the process.
