Schwartz reported 406 active connections, compared with a recent average of 401. Median peer latency also remained near its recent average during the monitoring period. Peer disconnections have declined, while abuse-related disconnects remain limited. The update follows July’s manifest flood attack, which disrupted peer connectivity across XRPL. Attackers flooded nodes with fake or unverified validator manifests, increasing CPU and memory pressure. Nodes started disassociating from peers in an attempt to avoid resource depletion. Despite the disruption, enough validator connectivity remained for consensus to continue.
