PROTECTIONS FOR DEVELOPERS FINAL ROADBLOCK FOR CLARITY ACT
@EleanorTerrett reports bipartisan Senate negotiations over the Clarity Act reportedly ended last night without a deal.
Sen. Cynthia Lummis says lawmakers have agreement on “99%” of the bill, but disputes over BRCA protections for non-custodial developers and ethics provisions tied to the First Family remain unresolved ahead of tomorrow’s Banking Committee markup.
Coin Center drew a red line, warning it will not support a stripped-down BRCA proposal and calling the vote a “with us or against us moment” for developer rights.
As of now, expectations are the markup will proceed on a partisan basis with Democrats holding out.
