Normal blood sugar does not mean you are fine:
- A lot of people have normal fasting blood sugar and high CRP, which is just as bad for you long term and can predict a future heart attack
- hsCRP is the best marker of cardiovascular inflammation, first linked to heart disease in the Framingham study
- Levels rise with age and inflammation and track with mortality
- Ask your doctor for the high sensitivity reading, not just glucose
- To bring it down: change the diet, eat less, eat more vegetables. Anti-inflammatories work too
