🎓 Congratulations to the 30 graduates of our Citizens Police Academy Class 02-2026! Over the past 12 weeks, these community members got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at LVMPD, learning what it takes to serve Southern Nevada through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, tours, and conversations with the officers and professionals who keep our community safe. Angelica Villarta, a member of the Metro Multi-Cultural Advisory Council, also graduated with this class! Assistant Sheriff Fred Haas presented each student with a diploma and thanked them for their commitment throughout the 12-week program. From constitutional law and patrol operations to SWAT, K-9, Search & Rescue, Homicide, firearms training, traffic enforcement, counterterrorism, crime prevention, and much more, they experienced aspects of policing that few members of the public ever get to see.
