🇨🇴🇮🇱 Colombia went from taking Israel to court for genocide to calling it a best friend, in the space of one election. New president Abelardo de la Espriella says he had a "very warm and enriching conversation" with Netanyahu, thanking him for the humanitarian aid and rescuers Israel sent during a recent disaster. His words: "Colombia and Israel, always friends and allies." Under Gustavo Petro, Colombia cut ties with Israel and backed South Africa's genocide case at the ICJ. De la Espriella took office August 7 and flipped the entire foreign policy. He's already recognized Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights, second only to the U.S., and he's moving Colombia's embassy to Jerusalem. One of Latin America's loudest critics of Israel just became one of its most eager partners. Source: Abelardo de la Espriella / Writer: Daniyal
