🇺🇸🇮🇷 The viral claim that the U.S. Navy secretly dredged a new shipping corridor to bypass Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz is almost certainly false. The narrow passage between Oman’s Musandam Peninsula and Jazirat island may shave a few nautical miles off the journey for large oil tankers, but it does not take them out of Iran’s strike range. Zoom out and the problem becomes obvious: ships would still have to cross waters exposed to Iranian missiles and drones long before reaching the supposed “safe corridor.” Source: CIG (Telegram) / Writer: Mhedi
