Nintendo has confirmed that some employee data was stolen in a hack involving TinyPulse, an employee survey service owned by WebMD that Nintendo of America used internally. The breach affected only a small number of employees and mainly exposed older survey information, including names, email addresses, and some personal documents such as bank statements. No customer data or Nintendo game systems were impacted. The hackers, who call themselves Shadowbyt3$, reportedly demanded a $2 million ransom and leaked some of the stolen data after Nintendo refused to pay. Nintendo said its own systems were never compromised and stressed that people with Nintendo accounts do not need to take any action.
