Two directors linked to major TV hits have reportedly turned down HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series due to J.K. Rowling’s transphobia.
“Absolutely f—ing not! Lol.” “But thank you for asking.”
“I think that the trans community deserve safety and dignity and respect and total acceptance.”
Ally Pankiw, who directed an episode of Black Mirror, rejected an offer to direct the show because she said she did not want to financially support a project connected to Rowling.
Kate Herron, the director of Loki, also revealed that she was approached twice to direct the series but declined both times.
