Bit Reactor, the studio behind Star Wars Zero Company, has furloughed most of its staff just weeks before the game’s launch.
Around 80% of the team may have been affected, according to sources cited by Game File, leaving only a small group working on the game after launch.
Bit Reactor says the decision was made by the studio itself and was not ordered by EA or Disney, the studio ran out of most of its funding before the game launched.
The developers who were furloughed could potentially return if Star Wars Zero Company performs well enough
There’s also a separate legal fight going on between co-founder Alison Kelly and Greg Foertsch over who actually owns the studio. Kelly is seeking more than $20 million in damages, while Foertsch disputes her ownership claims.
