Stellar Blade and Lies of P have helped encourage more Korean developers to make console games, according to Shift Up technical director Dong-ki Lee.
Speaking at Gamescom 2026, Lee said the success of games like Stellar Blade and Lies of P showed Korean developers that they could take on ambitious console projects.
“Games like ours, and also Lies of P, those kinds of games came out in Korea and that really made developers in Korea go take up the challenge for console games more,”
He also pointed to Crimson Desert, adding: “We have Crimson Desert now as well, so they’re having all this influence on each other, so that’s really good.”
It’s similar to how Black Myth: Wukong helped boost China’s PC and console game industry.
