My dad died with a credit card balance.
A few weeks after his funeral, I got a call from the bank.
The woman on the phone said, “We need to discuss the outstanding balance on your father’s account.”
I told her, “My dad passed away.”
She paused.
Then she said, “Yes, but as his adult child, you’re responsible for taking care of the balance.”
I almost believed her.
