That was also true in 1880 of 1930 because nyc has always had the same high percent of immigrants. You just don’t care because they were whites.
They used the same talking points though!!
Nearly 40% of children in New York State are foreign-born or the children of migrants. Of that group, about 85% are migrants from the third world. The education debate (like so many others) often disguises the real debate.
