Wilcox’s Central City campus addresses two urgent needs for 150 students and their families: housing affordability and quality child care. Their five part model uses 1) dedicated local investment; 2) state and local partnership; 3) coordinated access through the City Seats program; 4) whole-child support including developmental, vision, and hearing screening, infant and early childhood mental health support, language access; and teacher professional development, and 5) provider partnership. Louisiana is proving what a kid's future can be with the right start. Every child across America deserves the same.
