Very interesting interview with SEC Commissioner Peirce on vaults, especially the distinction between vaults and onchain lending protocols. In lending protocols, smart contracts facilitate transactions without intermediaries (traditional DeFi pool model). Vaults, by contrast, allocate and invest third-party assets, acting as intermediaries, which prompted the discussion on vaults and regulation.
